Surgical Crown Lengthening

5) radiograph to see adequate amount of bone removal (dark line is an artifact)

Patient presents with pain and no other significant issues. 39 year old male, non smoker. There was major tooth structure loss and decay was inside the nerve.

    1) Notice the dark area between the right 2 teeth on the screen.

2) both teeth were root canal treated and built up with silver filling material

Due to lack of tooth structure and the fact that crowns need some tooth structure to hold on to we had to remove some bone around the two teeth to expose more of the root for future retention by the crowns.

3) Although gruesome looking, a very easy procedure for both the practitioner and the patient with almost no post op discomfort and fast recovery rate.

4) sutures placed and the area already looks healthy and healing with no bleeding

6) 2 day evaluation with a very nice healing. No pain

7) radiograph of the gold crowns to verify the perfect margins
